JUNE 26 to AUGUST 23

WORLD OF ROBOTS - ROBOTICS SUMMER CAMP

Students will be introduced to mechanical and electrical engineering and software design for robotics. They will do this by building a linear-motion device. 

This summer camp follows the thinking process of

Learning > Building > Solving

TIME: 9:30 am - 3:30 p.m.

AGES: 13-16

MINI FILM-MAKER SUMMER CAMP

Students will receive a mystery box with a topic focused on the environment, a social cause or any other relevant topic for the community. 

Within that box will be propped to help them tell their story through a short video production they will storyboard, shoot and edit using their smartphone, computer, or tablet. 

This program is recommended for those curious about getting a sneak peek into the world of production and film making

DESIGN MAKE PLAY STEAM SAMPLER

Our DMP Summer Camp is full of activities for curious STEAM (Science, Technology, Arts, and Mathematics) learners. Join us at our brand-new location at The Shipyards. Most activities come in stages that cascade on top of each other following our philosophy of Design, Make, and Play.

ACTIVITIES:

  • Design and 3D print your own light-up toy

  • Build and code an LED Clock Project using Arduino

  • Bridge-building competition

  • Create animations using digital tools and clay

AGES: 9-12

VR & CODING (TWO WEEKS SUMMER CAMP)

Curious about coding and the future of Virtual Reality?

 

Children who enroll in this camp will be able to explore the world of virtual reality through different applied projects guided by experienced instructors.  Students will create tags and put applications in the real world using open source such as AR.js, Three.js, Unity, and/or unreal engine to develop a small game.

AGES: 13-16

DESIGN CHALLENGE -CATAPULT  LAUNCHER

In this one-week adventure, we will be designing, building, and competing with our own launchers utilizing the fabrication services of our maker lab!

 

 Kids will get to use 3D printers, laser cutters, springs, and elastics to design and build their own launching mechanisms with the guidance of instructors and compete in a number of competition challenges: Tower Storm Targets, How high can you go, How far can you throw, and more.

ILLUSTRATION AND DESIGN SUMMER CAMP

Enjoy our favorite Illustration and design program through different hands-on projects that will spark your child's creativity.

Students will use illustration and imagination to make Characters and make a story for them from their age and gender to their goals and challenges and finally make an animation. Students will use Inkscape and Pixilart and will have the option of using their own computers or renting one of our Chromebooks for the week.

DESIGN CHALLENGE - ELECTRIC CAR

Kids will get to use 3D printers, laser cutters, and motors to design and build their own electric car with the guidance of instructors and compete in a number of competition challenges: Speed Racers, aMazing Race, No Terrain No Gain, and more.

 

 Students will learn the ins & outs of Computer-Aided Design (CAD), measurements, electronics, design thinking, and other Applied Design Skills and Technologies (ADST) related to the BC Curriculum!
