(Frequently Asked Questions)
1. Are there any prerequisites to join your camps?
There aren't any prerequisites to join our camps. However, if your child is outside the age range of the programs please contact us, and we will be able to see if an override is appropriate.
2. How does the grade registration work?
Registration for our camps are based on the grades your child is going into September (school year 2024-2025).
3. My child is outside of the grade range of the camp, can they still enroll?
If you think that your child can enroll in a camp outside of their age range please email us at operations@zenmakerlab.com and depending on the situation we may be able to help with you an age override.
4. Will my child take something home?
All of our programs have hands-on project components and the majority provide a take-home mini-project for participants.
5. What time do your camps run?
The majority of our camps run from 9:30 AM - 3:30 PM, with the exception of our K-1 Camps, Tiny Inventors and Tiny Ecologists which run from 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM or 1:00 - 4:00 pm.
6. Will there be any breaks during the camps?
All our camps have three breaks, two 15 minute breaks and one half hour lunch break. We try our best to get students to go outside and stretch their legs and get some fresh air, given that the weather conditions are appropriate.
7. Does my child need to bring food from home?
At the moment we do not provide any meals or snacks, so you should pack lunch and snacks for your child.
8. Do you have any discounts available?
We are happy to let you know that there is a discount for every 2nd participant registered at the same time, a $50 discount will be automatically applied.
9. Who will be teaching my child(ren)?
All of our instructors are experts in their fields, and have a background in either engineering, illustration, physics, and computer science.
10. Can I switch weeks once I have registered?
You may change the week or camp registration that your child is in as long as:

An operations team member approves it, as different operational factors may affect the availability to switch.

The switch request is for a camp that starts in 2 weeks or more.

There are available spots in the camp you wish to switch to.

The switch does not result in the cancelation of a camp.
NOTE: Please note that if you switch to a camp that's cheaper than the original camp you booked no refund will be given; however, a credit might be possible.

11. What is your refund policy?
You may cancel your registration at any time; however, you may be subject to the following terms:
REGULAR SITUATIONS

If you cancel the registration before 48 hours after registration you will be eligible for a full refund minus a $25 admin fee.

If you cancel past 48 hours after registration you will be eligible for a 50% refund from the total registration fee.

If you cancel less than 4 weeks before the beginning of the camp no refund will be available.
SPECIAL SITUATIONS

If your child falls sick and is unable to participate in any other activity for the rest of the summer you may be eligible for a full credit towards your account. Please note that in this case we will require a Doctor's note with the date.

If you loose your job you may be eligible for a full refund minus a $25 admin fee. Please note that in this case we will require an official letter from your company confirming the termination of your employment.
