Writer: Jonas LopezJonas Lopez

Zen Maker Lab in partnership with the North Vancouver School District, Carson Graham Secondary with help from Capilano University are bring innovation to the North Shore through our new Robotics Academy.

Students who successfully complete the academy will be receiving a B.C. Ministry of Education grade-level credit for Robotics.

This program is available for any student in Grades 10 to 12 and will take place at Carson Graham Secondary and at DesignMakePlay, the brand new location for Zen Maker Lab located less than a 4 minutes walk from the Seabus station at The Shipyards, North Van.

For those who are interested but need financial support, Zen Maker Lab has committed to raising the necessary funds through sponsorship and donations. Zen Maker Lab's mission statement is to design programs and products to support the makers of the future, and this applies not only to those who are able to access these resources, but also to those who don't.

The robotics academy is more than just another academy, it is proof of how a community can come together to create opportunities for future makers. These opportunities will undoubtedly have a big impact on the short-term but also the long-term; as technology continues to become more and more influential in our lives.
