Students will be introduced to mechanical and electrical engineering and software design for robotics. They will do this by building a linear-motion device.

Students will receive a mystery box with a topic focused on the environment, a social cause or any other relevant topic for the community.

Within that box will be props to help them tell their story through a short video production they will storyboard, shoot and edit using their smartphone, computer or tablet.

This program is recommended for those curious about getting a sneak peek into the world of production and film making

DESIGN CHALLENGE -CATAPULT LAUNCHER
In this one week adventure, we will be designing, building, and competing with our own launchers utilizing the fabrication services of our maker lab!
Kids will get to use 3D printers, laser cutters, springs, and elastics to design and build their own launching mechanisms with the guidance of instructors and compete in a number of competition challenges: Tower Storm Targets, How high can you go, How far can you throw, and more.

Kids will get to use 3D printers, laser cutters, and motors to design and build their own electric car with the guidance of instructors and compete in a number of competition challenges: Speed Racers, aMazing Race, No Terrain No Gain, and more.
Students will learn the ins & outs of Computer Aided Design (CAD), measurements, electronics, design thinking, and other Applied Design Skills and Technologies (ADST) related to the BC Curriculum!

Students will gain an understanding of computers “under the hood”, and explore algorithms, sequencing, loops, conditionals, bugs and debugging using simplified drag-and-drop block coding.

It’s a-boat time we raced a boat load of boats at design make play. In this one week adventure, we will be designing, building, and competing with our own 3D printed boat utilizing the fabrication services of our maker lab!

Kids will get to use 3D printers, laser cutters, elastics and springs to design and build their own speed boats with the guidance of instructors and compete in a number of competition challenges: Water-You-Racing-For, Sinking Ships, Straight-and-Narrow and more.
