Valentine’s Day Special – Making Light up Valentines cards and Valentines boxes

Grades: 2-3
Kids will be creating personalized valentines cards and boxes in preparation for the holiday while also learning about electronics and laser cutting! We will learn the fundamentals of a circuit and create some personalized valentines cards that light up!

Nite Light Vs. Monsters
Date: February 18, 2022
Grades: 2-3
Kids will get to decorate 3D printed monsters that they will be defeating with their night lights and take home. Then we will get to build and take home their very own night light that was design and manufactured right here in Canada. Kids will learn about the fabrication processes of 3D printing and Laser Cutting. We will learn what light is is made of and how it works.
Mother’s Day Special – Make a light up mother’s day card and a personalized mother’s day jewelry box!

Jr Coding - Mission Possible

In this program kids will have fun while learning about programming as they control robots to complete physical challenges in fun and creative scenarios using the Engineering Design Process. Your child will be writing code with code blocks that connect over Bluetooth to our dashing robot. As they complete a mission, they will get stickers

Using a basic kit of components that were laser cut in our fabrication lab, hot glue, cups, and the Engineering Design Process, students will construct their own wild creative designs. Kids will be competing for valentine’s day candy – the better your design, the more you can win!

Mother’s Day Special – Puzzling yourself!
Date: May 09, 2022
Grades: 4-7
In this program, we will be laser cutting jigsaw puzzles and personalizing them with our own digital artwork. Students will learn about the illustrative software Inkscape to edit images, create graphic art, and daft for laser cutting. Students will have the opportunity to take photos of themselves but we highly encourage you bring a photo you’ve already prepare (these puzzles make excellent gifts).

LED Clock Build

Join us in this 1 day session where we will be building our very own bedside clocks that were designed and manufactured right here in North Vancouver out of our E 1st Fabrication shop! Student will learn about fabrication methods such as 3D printing and laser cutting.
