QUALITY FROM EVERY ANGLE

We take your child's education very seriously, that is why we are proud to have experts in the field such as engineers and designers so you can have peace of mind.

In addition, all of our instructors go through a Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Person Training, First Aid Training, and more.

Suzanne Huang

General Studies Principal
at Shalhevet Girls High School

I attended a professional development workshop at Zen Maker Lab and it was one of the best Pro-D's I have ever attended in my 10 year teaching career.

The projects perfectly align with the B.C. Applied Design, Skills and Technologies curriculum. I would highly recommend Zen Maker Lab to all creative and curious minds

Kids programs are innovative and creative. The instructors are knowledgeable in their fields of expertise.

My son learned a lot with ZenMaker and look up to the instructors there.

Convenor Engineering
Capilano University

The maker lab environment gives kids the chance to learn design thinking, prototyping and even in some cases kids are commercializing the product ideas they come up with. I have incorporated this unique lab environment into my university engineering design class with the students successfully fabricating their own very creative designs.

FAQs

1-) My child is outside the age range of the camp, can they still register?

If you would like to register your child in a program and they don't fall within the age range, and you are confident that their reading and comprehension skills are enough for them to enjoy the program we are happy to provide an override. For this please email us at operations@zenmakerlab.com for any overrides.

2-) Will my child take something home?

All of our programs include items to take home. Some of them are projects done during class, with a value up to $145, and others are tote bags with swag, a progress booklet, and other fun 3D printed items. We guarantee that your child will not only be able to see but to keep their creations.

3-) What are your COVID-19 protocols?

Our students' safety is our #1 priority. We have enhanced measures in place to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Mandatory masks, hand sanitizing stations, low-shared equipment, and more. If you have any specific questions on how we are keeping your child safe please email us at operations@zenmakerlab.com.

4-) Where do our prices come from?

We have high standards when it comes to our materials, instructors, and curriculum. We are not your typical cookie-cutter STEAM Summer Camps provider. We invest most of our resources in making sure that our students leave with an amazing experience, empowered to continue their learning journey.

Our prices include take-home projects tailored to specific subjects and curricula, 30 hours of expert guidance, a fun and educational curriculum that follows the ADST (Applied Design, Skills and Technologies) model, and much more.

5-) What is your refund/cancelation policy?

As we know parents and schools often rely on our programs for child-care in addition to the program learning, we endeavour to always run our programs and not cancel our programs or program sessions except under exceptional circumstances.

Covid-19 Related Cancellations

We understand that due to the pandemic we need to be extra flexible with our cancellation policy. If your child is feeling sick, they should not attend our program and should notify us as soon as possible. If your child still feels okay to attend our program remotely from home, we will provide STEM instructor-led online programming for them (similar activities but taught online by our instructors during the same time slot).

In the case that our program must be canceled due to a COVID-19 related provincial health order, you may:

a) Switch to our STEM instructor-led online programs (similar activities but taught online by our instructors during the same time slot)

b) Request a credit to your account for a face-to-face or online future program with us, valid until December 2022.

c) Request in writing or by email and receive a full refund. Refunds are processed in a timely fashion (within 30 days at the latest).

If only some sessions need to be cancelled due to a Covid-19 related provincial health order, we will apply the refund policy above proportionately (e.g. if half of the sessions need to be cancelled, your child could do the remaining half sessions online, you could receive a credit equivalent to half of the sessions towards a future program, or you could receive a refund for half of the sessions).

Non-Covid-19 Related Cancellations

In the case where an individual session of our program must be cancelled due to a non-Covid-19 related school closure (e.g. weather-related, “snow day”), we will switch to our STEM instructor-led online programs (similar activities but taught online by our instructors during the same time slot). No make-up class, credit or refund would be offered in this case.

If your child is unable to attend the whole program due to a scheduling change or other personal reasons we will provide a credit or full refund. We require 72 hours' notice before the start of the program in order to receive this credit or refund. This will allow us to offer up the spot to another interested participant.

If your child starts our program but misses an individual session or sessions due to illness, personal conflict of schedule, or other reason, and they cannot attend our remote STEM instructor-led online program, we are unable to provide a make-up session or provide a proportional refund or credit, but our instructors will help your child catch up for the next session.
